People register in hopes of winning free food for a year during the grand opening of Raising Cane's

A long line of people braved the heat Tuesday morning to be one of the first to get a taste of Marion's newest restaurant...Raising Cane's.

The chicken finger chain opened its doors on Joseph Cannon Way.

The event include a drawing to award 20 customers free food for a year, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a DJ, commemorative hats and more.

Illinois has the sixth most Raising Cane's restaurants of any state in the U.S. with 32. There are nearly 700 locations nationwide.
