Local lawmakers Dale Fowler, Patrick Windhorst, and Paul Jacobs are hosting two health fairs for senior citizens in Carbondale and Marion. Dozens of healthcare providers and vendors from Southern Illinois will offer free healthcare screenings, information, and prizes.

Senator Fowler says he is proud to host the events again:
"(Seniors) will have an opportunity for blood pressure screenings, blood glucose, and grip strength. There will be flu shots available. It's an awesome opportunity, and it's fun to see all the senior citizens throughout the area come to this event. They'll be able to speak firsthand and have an opportunity to meet providers that they didn't know existed in Southern Illinois."

The annual senior health fairs will be next Tuesday at the Carbondale Civic Center, or next Wednesday at the HUB Recreation Center on 917 West Main Street in Marion. Both events will be from 9 to 11 am.
