$111,000 donated to the Poshard Foundation to help area food pantries for children

59 food pantries in 20 counties throughout southern Illinois will receive food for children from The Poshard Foundation for Abused Children.

In the past, the Poshard Foundation has distributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to food pantries with the condition the money be used to purchase fresh, highly nutritious food for children. This year, donations totaled $111,000.

Foundation co-founder Jo Poshard says this generosity is critical because at this time of the year area food pantries are struggling, especially to provide nutritious food for the kids they serve.
