Southern Illinois Congressman Mike Bost says several communities in his 12th congressional district could be targets of what he calls radical leftist protests this weekend.

The Murphysboro republican says he’s been in contact with the chiefs of police for Carbondale, Mt. Vernon, Effingham, Charleston, O’Fallon and Belleville. He says these are cities he believes could be protest locations.

Bost says he stand shoulder-to-shoulder with law enforcement in their efforts to keep communities safe from the violence and upheaval witnessed in Los Angeles.

No Kings protests are planned across the nation tomorrow as a "nationwide day of defiance" against what organizers are calling the Trump administration's attacks on civil rights, working families, public education and health care. One of these protests is planned for the Carbondale Civic Center tomorrow from 1 to 3 p.m.
