Bob Odenkirk is returning to Carbondale.
The Emmy-winning actor, comedian, writer, and 1984 SIU graduate will join his brother, award-winning writer Bill Odenkirk, for a special conversation at The Varsity Center.
They will speak with H.D. Motyl, associate professor in SIU’s School of Media Arts, about their careers in entertainment and Bob’s time at SIU.
Bob is best known for his iconic role as Saul Goodman in AMC’s Breaking Bad and its spinoff Better Call Saul.
He recently starred in the action hit Nobody and its newly released sequel Nobody 2. Earlier in his career, he made his mark as a comedy writer for Saturday Night Live and Mr. Show with Bob and David.
The special conversation will take place Friday, September 12 from 3-5 p.m. at The Varsity Center in Carbondale.
Organizers say this exclusive conversation is open to the public, but tickets are very limited and expected to go fast.
To get free tickets, visit The Varsity Center’s online box office. Tickets will not be available at the door.
Odenkirk's last visit to Carbondale came in April 2023 when he received the bachelor’s degree he earned as a student and an honorary doctorate bestowed upon him in 2020, but postponed due to COVID.
