Ameren Illinois says its Avian Protection Program is a way to improve service to customers and help the environment.

WSIU's Brad Palmer spoke with Kyle Maxwell, superintendent of Electric Operations for Ameren Illinois, about how the program helps keep birds and other animals from disrupting electricity and harming the animals themselves.
