The SIU Homecoming Parade this weekend will feature a professional athlete.
NFL safety and SIU alum Jeremy Chinn has been announced as the Grand Marshal for the 2025 Homecoming Parade.
A standout student-athlete from 2016 to 2019, Chinn left his mark on Saluki Football with 243 tackles and 13 interceptions. The exercise science major was a three-time All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honoree.
After making history at the NFL Combine, Chinn was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2020 and is now a member of the Las Vegas Raiders.
He'll lead the parade starting at 10 a.m. this Saturday and will also be honored during the Saluki Football game at 2 p.m. against Northern Iowa as a 2025 Saluki Hall of Fame Inductee.
