Jonesboro Woman Receives Elevated Sentence After 4th DUI

Images

A Jonesboro woman is headed to prison after pleading guilty to a DUI.

The Union County State's Attorney says 53-year-old Judy Ann McCann-Stearns was sentenced to three years behind bars on one count of Aggravated Driving While Under the Influence.
She was arrested in November 2018 following a traffic crash investigation. McCann-Stearns, while intoxicated, drove a vehicle at a high rate of speed on Route 127 North with a passenger and crashed into a ditch.

The charge was elevated to a Class 2 Felony because this is McCann-Stearns' 4th conviction for Driving Under the Influence.
