Mt. Vernon Police Search for Bank Robbery Suspect

Mt. Vernon Police is asking for the public's help in locating a bank robbery suspect.

Officers say the robbery occurred shortly before 10 a.m. Monday at People's National Bank. They were told the suspect claimed to be armed, but did not brandish a weapon.
The suspect is described as a black male, in his teens or early 20's, with a thin build, wearing black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt and blue shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mt Vernon Police Department or Jefferson County Crimestoppers at 242-8477.
