Officials of the Illinois State Police Division of Internal Investigation have arrested a contract employee with the Illinois Department of Corrections.

66-year-old James Dawson of Hillsboro is charged with Custodial Sexual Misconduct and Criminal Sexual Abuse.

On July 13, 2022, ISP initiated an investigation on Dawson, who is a sonographer and was contracted by Precise, a subcontractor of Wexford Health Sources, which contracts with IDOC.

Dawson was contracted to perform sonograms on individuals in custody throughout the state of Illinois.

Dawson’s charges involve seven separate victims.

After a year-long investigation, internal investigators took Dawson into custody on Tuesday.

State Police report this is an active and ongoing investigation.

Anyone with additional information about this investigation is asked to contact ISP's Division of Internal Investigation at (217) 206-0449.
