The Pope County Sheriff's Department reports its receiving messages about packages and boxes being taken off the porches of residents living in Golconda and rural parts of the county.
Sheriff Jerry Suits reminds residents to be aware of this and to call his office immediately if they catch anyone unauthorized on porches or near homes.
He says he doesn't want anyone's Christmas to be ruined.
