A juvenile male is accused of threatening another person with a gun in Carbondale.

Late on the night of July 19, the Carbondale Police Department received a complaint about a male who was in possession of a handgun threatening the manager of a store in the 500 block of East Main Street.

A couple of hours later, the police department received another call about an individual in possession of a firearm in a similar vehicle described in the prior incident.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of South Illinois Avenue. One of the occupants, a juvenile male, was found to have a Jackson County warrant for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Officers took him into custody for the warrant.

Officers found a loaded handgun under the seat where the juvenile was seated. He was confirmed to be the same individual who threatened the store manager earlier in the night.
