Carbondale man accused of firing gunshots into the air on West Chautauqua

A Carbondale man is accused of firing gunshots into the air and pointing it at another person during an incident in an apartment complex.

Just before 9 p.m. Monday, Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 2700 block of W. Chautauqua in reference to a 911 call of shots fired.

A witness on scene reported, they observed the suspect exit an apartment and fire the gun into the air multiple times. The witness also reported the suspect pointed the firearm at them before returning to the apartment he came from.

Officers made contact with and arrested the suspect, identified as 53-year-old Danny Davis. A firearm was recovered.

Davis is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms.

He was charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Assault, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon by Felon.
