In Carbondale, Church Women United host the 49th Annual Sale to Fight Hunger. The sale is Friday, April 26th from 9AM- 6PM & Saturday April 27th from 9AM-2PM at University Mall. Donations of usable items of all sorts are welcome and can be dropped off at University Mall Tuesday thru Thursday before the event. Proceeds go to organizations and agencies that feed hungry people, and at least 80% of the proceeds remain in our community. Learn more in today’s Almanac.
How/To Help: Donations of usable items of all sorts are needed, including household items, electronics, furniture, books, toys, jewelry, plants, tools, and clothing. No major appliances, please. Donations will be accepted at the University Mall on Tuesday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday April 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday April 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. No clothing accepted on Thursday. Volunteers are needed each of these days.
