In Carbondale, you’re invited to the Buckminster Fuller Dome Home Birthday Block Party, Saturday, July 12th from 5 to 9 PM, as the mayor kicks off the evening with a proclamation making it officially Buckminster Fuller Day. The street will be closed at Cherry and Forest streets to offer live music, a bubble experience, sidewalk chalk, a piñata, and more. Enjoy dome tours led by board members, plus a peek inside the new Visitor Center before it’s built out. This is a community fundraiser supporting the programs and stewardship of the Fuller Dome Home, a landmark of imagination and possibility in Southern Illinois.
