Reptiles! Here at Giant City, reptiles hold a special place in our hearts. Join Jeremy Schumacher, forester and reptile enthusiast, as he discusses these often-misunderstood creatures and shows off several live species. This program will take place at Giant City State Park on Saturday, August 16th from 1-3pm. This program is free but please call 618-457-4836 to register.

 

The Springfield Area Arts Council invites the community to put their art knowledge to the test at its 3rd Annual Trivia Night on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Pole Barn Chic, located at 4491 Old Chatham Rd in Springfield. Doors open at 5:00 PM, and trivia kicks off at 6:00 PM. This event serves as a fundraiser, supporting the free programs and services the Arts Council provides to the community. The night will feature ten rounds of general trivia, a silent auction with unique items and experiences donated by local businesses and artists, and plenty of opportunities to support the arts in our region. www.springfieldartsco.org

Little Saints Book Club Coming August 16
The Little Saints Book Club returns to the Johnson County Extension Center (Vienna High School) on Saturday, August 16.
This is a free monthly event for children Pre-K and younger. Join us at 10:00 a.m. Besides a great story, there are crafts and other activities available.
