The City of Carbondale is thrilled to share the lineup for the 2025 Off the Rails Concert Series! Bringing six free concerts through the month of October, this collaborative series with Carbondale Main Street features several amazing national acts as well as incredible local talent. This series will be held at our Downtown Entertainment & Events Plaza on Washington Street, with music from 6-9 PM. As we are undergoing construction of our permanent venue within the Downtown Entertainment & Events Plaza, a portable stage will be on the South end of the parking lot, in the same orientation as our 2024 Off the Rails Series.

LEARN ABOUT SAFETY IN AND AROUND BIG TRUCKS, TRACTORS, BUSES, AMBULANCES, AND OTHER COMMUNITY VEHICLES. See and explore big trucks inside and out from 9 to 11am IN THE PARKING LOT OF CORNERSTONE CHURCH IN MARION. PARENTS MUST STAY WITH YOUR CHILD DURING THE EVENT. IN THE EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, PRE-K WILL BE IN SESSION
Enjoy a scenic stroll or sprint through the beautiful forests of Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center on Oct. 4 for the Rocky Ledges 5K/10K Trail Run/Walk. The popular event is open to runners and walkers of all ages. It begins at Camp 2 and covers a variety of terrains, including wooded areas and hills. Happening during SIU’s Family Weekend, Oct. 2-5, the 10K starts at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K begins at 9 a.m. Find complete details, registration information and previous run/walk results on the website.
