The Carbondale Branch NAACP announces its 44th Annual Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast to be held Monday, January 19th at 7:30 A.M. at the Southern Illinois University Student Center.Breakfast will be served from 7:30 until 8:30am, when the program is scheduled to begin.
The keynote speaker is Everick Turner, a retired IDOC warden. A highlight of the program will be the recognition of the King Essay Contest winners.
Tickets ($10 adults, $5 youth) may be purchased in advance on Eventbrite, from NAACP members, or at the door the day of the breakfast.All proceeds go to the Branch’s scholarship fund.
