Today, Governor JB Pritzker received an international award in Paris, France, honoring the State of Illinois' leadership and innovation.
The governor attended the Startup Ecosystems Awards with the International Chamber of Commerce, Mind the Bridge, and other economic leaders.
Pritzker said, "Illinois is proud to be recognized as part of this global startup community. With each step, we grow closer to conquering our greatest challenges, and in the process, we create a stronger, more connected, and more prosperous world."
Illinois and the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity was recognized as a "Startup Ecosystem Star."
The state also received favorable results in the Best-in-class Startup Program category for training and supporting smaller startups.
The state was also recognized for its Outstanding Investment Boost, the Top Talent and Research, and the Exceptional Industry Support.
