The Illinois Department of Transportation hosts statewide workshops to help local governments and communities apply for state funding opportunities.
The Special Programs Assistance Conferences help potential grant recipients learn about resources offered through the department's Economic Development Program, Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program, and Safe Routes to School program.
The conferences also connect local organizations to competitive funding programs offered by the IDOT by identifying projects to be submitted for consideration and providing instructions on filling out applications.
IDOT staff will lead each two-day conference. They include group presentations, one-on-one appointments, and networking opportunities.
The conferences will be held at Shawnee Community College on April 28 and 29, Greater Egypt Regional Planning and Development Commission in Marion on April 30 and May 1, and Olney Public Library on May 12 and 13.
