Juneteenth is our nation's newest Federal Holiday and many events are taking place in our region to celebrate. Here are a few planned for tomorrow.

In Carbondale, all are welcome to join the Juneteenth Freedom Parade. It will begin at 10am from the Town Square Parking Lot traveling to Attucks Park with a community celebration including food, music, games, vendors and a DJ.

In Cape Girardeau, The Convention and Visitors Bureau will host their community-wide Juneteenth Day Celebration at Ivers Square from 1 to 5pm. Enjoy children's activities, food, and live music. There will also be a performance by author and poet Ebony Stewart.

In Duquoin, Miss Juneteenth of Southern Illinois will be crowned at The Miss Juneteenth Pageant. Attend the event at the DuQuoin VFW Post 513 beginning at 6pm.
