Tennessee Man Awaiting Extradition Back to Jackson County

A Tennessee man has been arrested in connection with a Carbondale shooting incident that occurred on Monday.

The arrest stems from a report of an Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm in the 500 block of East Willow Street on Monday December 2 at 12:40pm. Carbondale Police learned the suspect fired several shots at a residence causing damage and then left the area running northbound. The suspect was not located at the time.

CPD later identified Andre L. Woodruff, age 29 of Tennessee, as the suspect and an arrest warrant was issued for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon.

Woodruff was located and arrested by officers in Portland, Tennessee and is awaiting extradition back to Jackson County.

No injuries were reported at the scene. The investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing.
