Mountain Bike Racing will take place this Saturday at Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center

This Saturday mountain bikers will compete in the Catalyst Race Series at SIU-C's Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center. The fairly new mountain bike trail will see racers in several age brackets competing beginning at 10AM. Isaiah Tanner, was a graduate student in recreation at SIU-C when work on the mountain bike trail began several years ago, and says because of the layout, racers will get a unique experience.

"So this is rolling contour trail. We do that for a couple of reasons. Nature already has the ideal design. And, we wanna just imitate that for our riders, for our hikers, for our runners. They get a better a experience when they feel like they're moving naturally through the environment."

Refreshments and drinks will be available for both spectators and racers at this Saturday's race.
