Salukis are back in the win column after defeating the Valparaiso Crusaders 75-69.
SIU men's basketball head coach Bryan Mullins spoke at the postgame press conference about the work the Salukis put in the second half to turn the game around after ending the first half down by 5.
"The energy really changed once we were able to win those 50-50 plays and guys played with great energy, great togetherness there. That first 10 minutes of the second half allowed us to get a lead and keep that lead in the second half so it's obviously, you know for our guys to respond that way after not playing our best that first 20 minutes, it was a great response by them."
The Salukis capped off the game with Xavier Johnson leading in scoring with 27 points and Clarence Rupert leading in rebounds with 8.
The Salukis travel to Kentucky Saturday to face the Murray State Racers at 1 p.m.
