A peace and justice vigil for Ukraine is scheduled for Oct. 7 in Carbondale

An illuminated neon peace sign shows through some wispy fields.

The Monthly Peace and Justice Vigil will be held by The Peace Coalition of Southern Illinois on Saturday, October 7.

It coincides with the Global Days of Action for Peace in Ukraine.

The Peace Vigil will be a call to end Ukraine's conflict with Russia, and to not escalate further disaster due to it. Dozens of events are planned all over the world to advocate for peace during the week of actions, which runs through Sunday, October 8.

Signs will be provided at the event, but all are invited to bring their own.

The Justice Vigil takes place on Saturday, October 7 from noon to 1pm at the corner of Main and Illinois Ave in Carbondale.
