Recent Vienna High School grad dies in a car accident

A recent graduate of Vienna High School died in a car crash this past weekend in Graves County, Kentucky.

Vienna Superintendent Josh Stafford reports 21-year-old Colton Skylar Blankenship passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the head-on collision.

Blankenship was a 2022 graduate of Vienna High School, who went on to play basketball at Southeastern Illinois College.

According to his obituary, Blankenship was an aspiring rodeo bull rider. He participated in the Whippoorwill Rodeo circuit and the Bull Blowout.

Blankenship's visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 7 at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. The funeral will follow at 3.
