Back to School Bash at Jackson County Health Department to include vaccinations and school supplies

Jackson County Health Dept.

Believe it or not, it's time to start thinking about getting ready for another school year.

Molina Healthcare of Illinois is partnering with Jackson County Health Department to host a Back-to-School Bash in Murphysboro, aimed at supporting local families as they prepare for the new school year.

The event will offer back to school vaccines, fluoride treatments, car seat checks, as well backpacks and school supplies for those in attendance. Local agencies will also be on site to share information about available community resources.

In Illinois, parents spend an average of $886 per child on school supplies. Through this event, Molina says it aims to ease that burden by offering convenient access to essential health services and school supplies—all in one place. The goal is to support families in leading healthier, more fulfilling lives as they gear up for the school year ahead.

The event at the Jackson County Health Department will be Tuesday, July 15 from 3-6 p.m.
