Molina Healthcare of Illinois is providing personal hygiene products through their Molina Closet Program at several southern Illinois locations.
Molina Healthcare is donating more than $27,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois.
The money will be used to provide closets filled with personal hygiene products at each club site for one calendar year.
Community Engagement Specialist Erin McNamara-Stafford says closets are there so young people’s basic needs are met.
“If they're not getting things at home or at school, things that they need, like shampoo, sanitary products, toilet paper, clothing, any items, the items are really based upon the children's, the child's need or the teenager's need or whoever is utilizing the closet and their staff, so whatever they need is going to be in this closet. They can take it home and use it at their own discretion.“
On Thursday Molina will hold a ribbon cutting for an additional closet at Project ECHO and S.T.A.R Quest Academy in Johnston City.
