Two Arrested for Coal Mine Burglary

Two Franklin County residents have been arrested for a burglary at a southern Illinois coal mine.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department says 36-year-old Robert Gifford and 35-year-old Jennifer Gifford, both of Sesser, were charged with burglary and theft of over 500-dollars.
The Giffords are accused of burglarizing Consolidated Coal Company on Emerson City Road in Scheller in April.

They were taken into custody on June 1st.
