A Mt. Vernon man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department says a judge handed down the sentence to 33-year-old Jonathan Bieniek on the charge of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child.
The conviction was a result of a December investigation involving Investigators from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and assisted by employees of the Amy Schultz Child Advocacy Center.
