A vacant building fire in Carbondale leads to an arson arrest

A person is accused of intentionally setting fire to a vacant building in Carbondale.

Around 12:30 Sunday morning, Carbondale Police officers and firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 900 block of West Sycamore Street.

The building was found to be vacant and no injuries were reported.

During the course of the investigation, officers arrested 35-year-old Mylena Fruits of Carbondale, for Arson, Criminal Damage to Property by Arson and Criminal Damage to Property.
