A stabbing in Carbondale sends one to the hospital and the suspect to jail

A Carbondale man is in custody after a stabbing Tuesday afternoon.

Carbondale Police officers responded to a business in the 100 block of East Jackson Street regarding a report of a stabbing at 3:17 p.m.

They found the victim had suffered a serious but non-life-threatening stab wound. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Officers identified the suspect as 62-year-old Linza Russell.

Russell fled the scene in his vehicle and officers quickly located and arrested him in the 1200 block of East Grand Avenue.

Russell is charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery.
