Carbondale Police investigate a fatal stabbing

A man has died following a stabbing incident in Carbondale.

The victim is identified as 23-year-old William Pittman of Carbondale.

Just after 7 p.m. Wednesday, Carbondale Police officers responded to the 400 block of East Larch Street regarding an individual who was injured during a fight.

Officers located Pittman with stab wounds. He was then transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, where he later died from his injuries.

Police learned Pittman had been stabbed by a man he was acquainted with over a personal disagreement. The suspect has been identified as 44-year-old Terrance Ware of Carbondale.

He is being charged with First Degree Murder.
