The Carbondale Police Department is searching for a vehicle and a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting incident late Thursday night.

At 11 p.m., Carbondale police officers responded to the 900 block of West McDaniel Street regarding a man who had been shot. Officers arrived and found a male with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The victim reported he was stopped in his vehicle talking to a black male he did not know when the male shot him through a car window. The victim exited his vehicle, at which time the suspect entered the vehicle and fled the area.

The suspect is described as a black male of medium height wearing a hooded sweatshirt. The victim is in stable condition at a local hospital. The investigation is active and ongoing.
