CPD initiates an aggravated unlawful use of a weapon investigation

A man was arrested during a traffic stop Saturday night on weapons and other charges.

At 11:42 p.m. Bernard B. Cole was stopped in the 600 block of East Grand Avenue for suspended license plates.

The 40 year-old was found to be driving with a suspended driver's license and was in possession of a stole firearm and a controlled substance.

Cole was charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Driving While License Suspended.

He was booked in the Jackson County Jail.

The investigation is still ongoing.
