UPDATE: Carbondale Police say missing teen, Jessica Thompson has been found

Carbondale police officers located Jessica Thompson on September 24. She was safe and in good health.

PREVIOUS STORY:

The Carbondale Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating 16-year-old Jessica L.D. Thompson, who has been reported missing since September 19, 2024.

Jessica, described as a habitual runaway, was last seen at approximately 6:00 p.m. on the 500 block of North Beadle Drive.

According to witnesses, she entered a dark four-door vehicle that was headed north.

Jessica is 5'03" tall, weighs around 106 pounds, has brown eyes, and shoulder-length hair dyed blonde and green.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue sweatpants.

Authorities are concerned for her safety and are actively investigating the situation.

Anyone with information about Jessica's whereabouts is urged to contact the Carbondale Police Department at (618) 549-2121.

The department is urging anyone with knowledge of Jessica’s location or the circumstances surrounding her disappearance to come forward to assist in bringing her home safely.
