Franklin County held a dedication ceremony for the new 46,000 courthouse earlier Friday.
The new Franklin County Courthouse open it’s doors to the public for the first time Friday.
The first 1,000 people received a commemorative book detailing the history of the courthouse dating back to 1818.
Local and state leaders were on hand to participate in the dedication ceremony.
Franklin County Circuit Clerk Jim Muir says the outcome of the project wrapped up better than expected.
"Built under budget, built under time, built with no glitches. With no traffic issues, built with no injuries and 80,000 man hours built with no supply chain problems. And on top of that, built in the middle of a pandemic.
Offices begin relocating into the courthouse on Monday.
