Federal funds will help the City of Du Quoin with an infrastructure project

A picture of dollar bills scattered across a table

The City of Du Quoin is receiving $2.5 million in federal funding to extract and relocate utility lines under Hickory Street, a project that the town has worked toward for years.

These federal funds will specifically help the City relocate 2,300 linear feet of 6-inch water main, 2,200 linear feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer pipe and 1,200 linear feet of 14-inch water main.

This federal investment comes through the Delta Regional Authority’s Community Infrastructure Fund. It covers over half of the cost of this project that will help the town to improve its water infrastructure.
