The Illinois Municipal League elected a southern Illinois mayor to be its First Vice President during a meeting this past weekend in Chicago.

IML membership unanimously elected Mayor John Lewis of Mount Vernon to serve a one-year term as First Vice President of the statewide association. Lewis has served on the IML Board of Directors as a Vice President since 2019.
