The American Red Cross of Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas is calling for new volunteers to help their communities during disasters. A special training session for Disaster Action Team (DAT) volunteers is set for Saturday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Red Cross chapter office at 20 S. Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
DAT volunteers are among the first to offer compassion, emergency assistance, and recovery resources to people impacted by disasters such as home fires, floods, and tornadoes. Lunch will be provided during the training.
Those interested in volunteering are encouraged to register by emailing Temirra Jones at Temirra.jones@redcross.org.
