With the hurricane season in full swing and threats of wildfires looming, the need for dedicated individuals to support relief efforts has never been greater.

The impact of these storms has led to the cancellation of nearly 60 blood drives across the country, resulting in the loss of approximately 1,500 units of blood that are desperately needed for life-saving medical treatments.

They should also know how to dial 911 and understand the dangers of talking to strangers or accepting rides from unfamiliar people.

The hurricane, which made landfall in Florida, has brought extreme weather conditions, including heavy rainfall, high winds, and life-threatening storm surges. The resulting floods and tornadoes have severely affected communities, necessitating immediate relief efforts.

The Red Cross is working tirelessly with hospitals to meet patient needs but cannot do it alone. They are calling on donors of all blood types to come forward and help replenish the supply.
