A published report says SIU Carbondale will pay former Athletic Director Liz Jarnigan for the rest of her contract.
The Southern Illinoisan reports Jarnigan will be paid more than $400,000 - for the nearly two years she had remaining on her contract with the university.
Jarnigan was terminated less than two weeks ago, and since then numerous allegations have come to light within the Athletic Department. Among them, a man hired into the NCAA compliance office was already under sanction from the governing body for violating rules at his previous employer.
Accusations have also been logged against the Women's Soccer and Women's Swimming and Diving Coaches - SIUC leaders say they're investigating those claims.
SIU administrators wished Jarnigan well after her termination was announced. They've named SIU Foundation Director Matt Kupec the interim AD until a national search can find a replacement.
