Several projects in southern Illinois parks will receive state grant funds to develop and improve recreational facilities.
The grants are through the state’s Open Space Land Acquisition and Development program, administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The grants can provide up to one-half of a project’s funds combined with local matching funds.
The City of Anna is receiving $400,000 to help build an all-inclusive playground in the City Park called Hadley’s Haven.
Another inclusive playground at a soccer complex in Harrisburg is receiving $396,000.
Bathhouse and parking renovations at the Du Quoin Municipal Pool is getting over $390,000.
A COMBO-Village Park acquisition in Bluford is in line for $200,000.
The City of Christopher is receiving $253,000 for a park renovation.
