A man pleads guilty to a 2021 murder in Carbondale

A man accused of killing a Carbondale man last year has admitted to the murder.

The Jackson County State's Attorney's office reports 44-year-old Freddie Glasser, formerly of Colorado, pleaded guilty to murder in the death of 61-year-old Melvin Edward.

Carbondale Police found Edwards's body with life-threatening injuries in the 700 block of South Marion Street in May 2021.

Edward died of this injuries a few hours later at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Glasser will be sentenced in October.
