CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois University Carbondale invites businesses and other employers to register now for the fall 2023 Saluki Student Job and Internship Fair. The event is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19 in the Student Center Ballrooms.

Any business interested in hiring SIU students for part-time employment or internships this fall is welcome to participate in the Career Development Center event. Register online. Organizers encourage businesses to register by Aug. 11 and get an early bird discount.

University departments with immediate openings, as well as those anticipating job openings during the fall 2023 semester, are also welcome to attend for free.

SIU’s job fair traditionally draws numerous businesses and hundreds of participating students. The event assists businesses and other employers in identifying and hiring qualified people for positions or internships, as well as connecting students with on-campus opportunities.

The event is open to SIU students and alumni of all majors at no cost. They are not required to pre-register.

They should dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resumes to the event. The Career Development Center can assist with interview preparation and critiques of resumes and cover letters by appointment through Handshake or by calling 618-453-2391.

SIU’s Career Development Center, New Student Programs and the Student Center are job fair sponsors. For additional details, contact SIU’s Career Development Center at careerdevelopment@siu.edu or 618-453-2391.
