The City of Carbondale is offering boxes full of fresh food from Cusumano & Sons, Inc. to city residents.
The giveaway is next Tuesday, July 15th beginning at 8:30a.m. and will continue until supplies run out.
Interim City Manager and Police Chief Stan Reno says, “The City of Carbondale is proud to provide boxes filled with fresh food to our community this summer. This initiative is a reflection of our continued commitment to the well-being of our community and our belief that access to healthy, nutritious food should never be out of reach. We hope that by distributing boxes filled with fresh quality foods is one way we can help ease the burden for families during the summer months when needs often increase and resources can become strained. This opportunity embodies the spirit of compassion, connection, and care that defines Carbondale. I encourage all eligible residents to participate.”
Citizens wishing to receive a food box can drive through the west parking lot of City Hall during the event to pick up a food box for their household.
Food box delivery is also an option for homebound residents that live within city limits. Delivery service is available exclusively for residents with mobility challenges who are unable to leave their homes.
All food box delivery requests must be submitted by Noon on Friday, July 11th.
