The Cape Girardeau Police Department is hiring for a unique position.
The department, conjunction with Saint Francis Medical Center, is seeking applicants for the new position of Hospital Police Officer.
The person hired will be in charge of patrolling the hospital campus - both inside and outside - and de-escalating potentially violent situations.
