A Jackson County man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to 12 counts of Disorderly Conduct for making Bomb Threats.

The Jackson County State’s Attorney says 37-year-old Justin Bagley of Elkville received a five-year prison sentence.

Last February, officials with the Taber Police Service in Alberta, Canada contacted the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department to report businesses and schools in Taber had received several bomb threats within the preceding 48 hours.

The threats were made by phone between February 7 and February 9 to a department store, a bank, a health center, schools, and the police department in Taber. All of the calls were traced to Bagley in Elkville.

Working with the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois, the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s office learned Bagley also called the World Trade Center in New York City and made a bomb threat on January 25.
