Carbondale Shooting Leaves One Dead

police

Carbondale Police are investigating a homicide.

Investigators say officers were called to the 2200 block of North Illinois Avenue just after midnight to reports of shots fired.

When they arrived, officers found a 25-year old victim on the pavement in front of the home with several gunshot wounds. Despite rescue attempts, the victim died at the scene.

Police say they're still investigating the shooting - and are asking anyone with information to call the department at 457-3200.
