The damage to the ISP squad car sideswiped on I-57 in Williamson Co.

An Illinois State Police squad car was sideswiped late Tuesday morning on Interstate 57 in Williamson County.

ISP reports the squad car was parked along the interstate near milepost 56 with its emergency lights activated as the trooper inspected a tractor trailer.

That's when a Dodge Durango failed to move over and sideswiped the driver's side mirror and door of the squad car.

The trooper was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, but was uninjured.

The driver of the Durango, 37-year-old Lucas Williams of West Frankfort was also uninjured. He was issued a citation for Scott’s Law – Improper Passing of an Emergency Vehicle.
